✅ Scenario: Connecting a New Subscriber to the Fiber Network
✔ A technician runs the cable from the Network Interface Device (NID) on the outside of a house.
✔ They pull the cable through a conduit or attach it aerially back to the Distribution Terminal (a small box on a utility pole or pedestal).
✔ At the terminal, the technician simply opens the port, plugs the pre-connectorized SC/APC end into the corresponding adapter, and closes the port. No splicing is needed.
✔ At the house, the cable is connected to the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) inside the NID, often using a separate patch cord or a field connector.
